Q+ is a BHD Group product
Q+ is business software for service shops. It runs the queue, the point of sale, VAT invoices and the owner reports from one app. The footer of every Q+ page says who makes it: Q+ is a product of BHD Group in Muscat, and Bin Haider Darwish L.L.C. holds the copyright. The group carries the name of Ali's grandfather.
Q+ runs on the Paper & Pen ERP engine, and Paper & Pen is also a BHD Group company. A sale in Q+ creates the invoice, the payment and the accounting entries in that one engine. From one print shop to 14 companies
BHD Group grew from BHD Printing & Designing in Muscat, founded in 1894. Today the group has 14 companies in printing, technology, software platforms and sovereign AI. They include Hosn, Mithaq, Cardify, Dardasha, Paper & Pen, ReachScreens, Q+, arabian.ceo and Splitty. Ali is also a co-founder of The Flower Bar.
The print side and the software side meet inside Q+. A Q+ business that prints with BHD, or orders cups from CupsByAA, can claim the Q+ Café Pro bundle free for its first 90 days. Café Pro adds the loyalty dashboard, CRM and analytics.
His roles today
- Head of Strategic Planning, ITHCA Group, since February 2025.
- Secretary to the Board of DataOm, ITHCA Group's submarine cable company, since October 2023.
- Board member of the Oman Fencing Committee since 2023.
- Founder and CEO of BHD Group since 2019.
Investment and policy work
From November 2021 to June 2023, Ali was Head of Business Environment at the Oman Vision 2040 Office. He built the Invest in Oman centre. He also worked on the National Investment Strategy, which narrowed 43 sectors to 8 priority sectors.
His career started in 2017. Before the Vision 2040 Office, he worked at Oman Broadband, Oman Aviation Group, EY and the Central Bank of Oman.
Education
Ali is a doctoral candidate in Innovation and Management at the University of Central Lancashire. He holds an MSc in Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Design and a BSc in Economics and Management, both from Brunel University London. He earned the IB Diploma at The Sultan's School.
First Omani to win the Next Generation Award
In November 2025, the Family Business Council Gulf gave Ali its Next Generation Award. He is the first Omani to win it. See the FBCG awards record.
